Odessa Rickey, born 4/12/1923 to Dwight and Jewel Smith,
passed away May 13, 2007. A lifelong resident of Oklahoma City,
Odessa was preceded in death by Ralph, her husband of 59 years.
She is survived by her children, Chris, James, Robbie and
Tamara, all of Oklahoma City; Rod of Tahlequah, OK; and Ralph II
and his wife Patricia, of Overland Park, KS; her sister, Jacquie
Stephenson, Savannah, GA; her twin brother, Oakleigh Smith,
Tishomingo, OK; grandchildren, Kelly 'Tom', Erik, Carlena, Kyle
and Keith; and great-grandchildren, Logan, Bailey and Garrett.
Odessa was a beautiful lady of extraordinary charm and
intelligence. From chemistry class, debate team and tennis, to
cheerleading, homecoming queen, book club president, and loving
mother; she exemplified excellence and integrity. A staunch
patriot, she served her country in WWII in her civilian job
repairing aircraft generators at Tinker Air Force Base. Odessa
's uplifting spirit and selfless devotion to family will forever
be remembered.
Visitation will be at Bill Eisenhour Northeast Funeral Home,
Wednesday, May 16, 2007 from Noon to 9 p.m. Funeral Services
will be 10 a.m. Thursday, May 17, 2007 at Bill Eisenhour
Northeast Chapel with interment to follow at Memorial Park
Cemetery.
