Dying, Begs To Be Brought Home
Within a few hours after arriving here, Rock Island conductor dies.
The body of A. B. Rutter, a resident of Haileyville, employed by the Rock
Island as an extra conductor, who died at the home of his mother, Mrs. W. W.
Kurkendall, 300 West Maple street, Sunday morning of pneumonia, will be sent
to Guthrie this morning for burial.
Rutter's condition for the last moth has incapacitated him for work, and
although he could hardly stand, he persuaded his friends to put him on the train
for Haileyville and let him die at the house of his mother in Oklahoma City.
He arrived here during late evening and a few hours after being taken to the
home, he died.
