OBITUARY
DIED - At Enid, Oklahoma, Friday night, Dec. 3, 1909, George Schmidt,
formerly proprietor of the Columbia hotel of this city. Funeral will be held
Monday at Enid.
NEGRO KILLING ACCIDENT
A coroner's jury before W. H. Zwien, Saturday reached a verdict that Sam
Kottler, negro, who was shot Friday in a pool hall at 116 West First
Street, came to his death by a bullet wound, fired from a pistol in the hand
of Benjamin Hayes. The shooting was accidental.
SHOWN TRIAL POSTPONED
The trial of "Curly" Shown, an Oklahoma City man, charged
with being connected with a gang of horse thieves, has been postponed by the
district judge at Enid until Dec. 13, owing to the sickness of Shown's wife.
The man is out on bond.
