OBITUARY NOTICE
William Schweinie, a pioneer of '89 and one of the founders of the
Doc & Bill Furniture company, died very suddenly at 1:30 am Saturday
morning from heart failure. Deceased was well and favorably known during his
residence here since the early day; of a kind and charitable disposition,
unassuming, yet always doing good and helping others, he made many friends,
who always knew him as "Bill"; his friendship and counsel was sought
for and obtained by many of the younger generation, who will miss his kindly
face, his cheerful smile, and hearty, warm handshake in their journey through
life. He was of German parentage, born in the old country, April 10, 1844, he
came to this country at an early age, and since manhood, has been actively
engaged in the development of such states as Indiana, Illinois, Texas and
Oklahoma, from the wilds of borderland and frontier life to the civilized and prosperous
communities they are today. C. A. Schweinie, an only son, and Mrs. W. M.
Smith, a sister, are the relatives.
The funeral services will be conducted by Rev. Thos. H. Harper, at 3 pm this (Sunday) afternoon from the residence, 420
E. Park Place. Friends of the family please attend. Interment in Fairlawn
cemetery.
