Poteau, LeFlore County, Oklahoma

Ora Christine Seeley, 50, of Oklahoma City, passed away Tuesday, Sept. 17, 2002. She was born Aug. 9, 1942 in Poteau. She graduated from Poteau High School in 1960 and received her BA degree from Southeastern University in Durant and her masters from Missouri State University at Warrensburg, Mo. She was an art teacher for over 30 years in the Butler, Mo. public school system and was a member of First Baptist Church in Butler, Mo.

She was preceded in death by her father, Jesse Oliver Henson; one son, John Michael McLaughlin.

Survivors include her mother, Gladys Henson of Shawnee; five sisters, Sammye Crawford and husband James of Venezuela, Mary Firestone and husband Fred of Broken Arrow, Nancy Mihura and husband Jim of Shawnee, Betty Brown and husband Oren of Oklahoma City and Linda Sexton and husband Raleigh of Oklahoma City; beloved friend Michael Violett; and many nieces and nephews.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Friday, Sept. 20 at Mercer-Adams Funeral Chapel in Bethany. Burial will follow at Resurrection Cemetery in Oklahoma City under the direction of Mercer-Adams Funeral Home of Bethany.
