Randolph "Randy" Lee Shaw, Sr. knew Jesus as his personal Savior and went home to be with his Lord on March 19, 2004 at the age of 90, at his home in Epworth Villa. He was born on January 23, 1914 in Marlow, OK, one of 10 children born to Luther Porter Shaw and Alice Roselea Eaves. Randy loved sports and left the family farm at age 14 to begin working at the City Cafe in Marlow so he could attend Marlow High School and play football. He subsequently attended Altus Junior College on a football scholarship and was planning to attend the University of Oklahoma when Beverly Osborne , owner of Beverly's Restaurants, offered him a summer job to earn money for college. His 65 year association with Beverly's began as a waiter at the age of 17 and concluded as owner and sole proprietor. Under his vision and leadership as many as 13 local Beverly's Restaurants and 150 franchised Chicken in the Rough restaurants.

Randy married the love of his life, Peaches in 1942 in Oklahoma City, and they celebrated 40 wonderful years of marriage before her untimely death in 1983. Randy was a decorated Veteran who served in the U.S. Army during World War II, advancing to the rank of Captain with duty in North Africa and in Italy. He and Peaches were members of Trinity Baptist Church, where Randy served as a Deacon. He sang with the Senior Choir at Quail Springs Baptist Church. He was a Director of the Oklahoma Restaurant Association for more than 50 years and served two terms as President. He was an avid bridge player, achieving Grand Life Master masterpoint rank and served as the president of a local bridge club.

He was a loving father and a devoted grandfather, known affectionately as "Papa." Randy is survived by his three children: Randye Glenn, Randy Shaw, Jr., and Jim Shaw; his six granddaughters: Erin Glenn, Hillary Glenn, Shawn Glenn Chick, Brandy Glenn Lucas, Ashley Shaw and Lindsay Shaw; and one great grandchild, Leif Lucas. A special man, he will be missed and his memory will be cherished.

Memorial services will be held at Guardian Funeral Home's Northside Chapel on March 22, 2004 at 2:00 p.m., with burial at Memorial Park Cemetery in Edmond.
