SLAUGHTER WILL BE HONORED BY MASONS
Lodge To Direct Rites For Weatherman Today
Very Rev James Mills, dean, and Rev R S Satterfield, El Reno, will conduct funeral services from St Paul's Episcopal cathedral at 2 pm Saturday for J P Slaughter, 69 years old, veteran government weather observer who died after a short illness at his observatory-home, 1915 Classen boulevard, Thursday. Masonic lodge No 26 will be in charge of burial in Rose Hill cemetery, according to Street and Draper funeral home.
Active bearers named Friday are H N Knight, Jeff Yeager, Earl Foster, Ross Goodner, Dr A J T Beatty, Charles Hamlin and H F Wahlgren.
Slaughter, head of the weather service here since 1905, would have completed 50 years in the federal service next February. He is survived by a daughter, Mrs. Ralph Day, of Columbus, Ohio, a brother and two sisters.[NOTE: page 1 includes two lengthily articles and a large photo
