John A. Spivey, 65, died Aug. 8, 1997 at the Oklahoma Veteran's Center in Clinton, OK. He was born Nov. 15, 1931 in Oklahoma City. He attended Classen H.S. where he played in the Sooner Dance Band. John played the organ with virtuoso talent, performing daily for 20 years on Danny's Day at Noon, WKY-TV with Danny Williams. John performed around Oklahoma City in trios, solo and groups, playing a variety of instruments, specializing in blues and jazz. The beautiful sound is gone, but the melody lives in the memory of his friends. John was an avid ham radio operator.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Roy & Helen Spivey .

He is survived by a daughter Sherry and son, Brandt Allen. Those who wish to pay their respects may call at Smith & Kernke all day Sunday. Graveside services will be 11:00 am Monday, Aug. 11, 1997 at Fairlawn Cemetery. Memorial gifts may be made to the Diabetes Foundation.
