OKLAHOMA CITY, OKLAHOMA - Police on Sunday identified a woman who died after being shot with a Taser weapon as 35-year-old Milisha Thompson.
Thompson scuffled with police who were called to the Oklahoma City Rescue Mission about 5:20 p.m. Saturday to a report of drug dealing, said police Lt. Don Holland.
“She assaulted one of the officers, a struggle ensued and they got her into handcuffs,” Holland said. “From what I understand, the Taser was utilized sometime during the struggle.”
After being handcuffed for several minutes, officers noticed Thompson was unresponsive and began to administer CPR.
An ambulance transported Thompson to an Oklahoma City hospital, where she was pronounced dead, Holland said. Holland said he didn’t know why the woman confronted the officers.
“As far as we know, she wasn’t even connected to the drug deal,” he said.
Thompson had been living at the mission, Holland said.
