Everett "Gene" Thornton passed away on August 29, 2004 in Loma Linda. He was born in Oklahoma City, OK on December 25, 1923 and was a resident of San Bernardino County for over 50 years. He was involved with the Bloomington Little League and attended the Grand View Baptist Church. As an officer of Carpenter's Local #944 for 55 years he started his career serving in the US Navy during WWII, receiving several medals. He was active in the Masonry
becoming the Worshipful Master of the Colton Ashlar Masonic Lodge. 

He is survived by his wife, Dorothy "Dot" and his 3 children, Jeanne, Gail and Bruce. Other family members are daughter-in-law Maria and 3 grandchildren, Jared, Zachary and Christy. 

The memorial service will be held at the Montecito Memorial Park,  Loma Linda at 10 AM on Thursday, September 2.
