Carol Jean Townsend, 11 year. old daughter of Mr., and Mrs., E. W. Townsend, 712 NW 3, Bethany. died Friday in Hubbard hospital after being ill a few days with flu and pneumonia. Services are pending, at the Merritt, funeral Home in Bethany

Carol Jean was a member of the Girl Scouts and a pupil in the sixth grade at the Putnam City school. The Townsend were members of the Putman City Baptist Church. Townsend is employee by the L. C. Smith and Corona Typewriter Company here.

In addition to her parents she is survived by her two grandmothers, Mrs. Mabel Lockwoood, 1348 MacArthur and Mrs. W. O. Reece, Hutchinson, Kan.
