Ora "Jackie" Townsend , 76, Bethany resident, passed away 11-10-2002 after a brief illness. She was born 12-26-25 in Bethany, OK to J. L. and Martha Steele.

Jackie was married to Eugene Jones in 1941. In 1961 she entered a 2nd marriage with Don Townsend . Jackie retired from Sears where she worked in the drapery department. After she retired she worked as a healthcare assistant with Medical Personnel Pool in OKC. She was a member of the Bethany Church of Christ.

Jackie was preceded in death by her parents, 4 brothers, Leo, J.W., Buddie, and Bob; and 1 sister, Joy Mae Berry.

She is survived by her son, Buddy Jones and wife Margaret, of Ada, OK; 2 brothers, Roy and Ben Steele; 2 sisters, Emma Lou Horn and Doretta Morgan; 3 grandchildren, Traci Davis and husband Larry, Kaci Underwood and husband Jim, and David Jones and wife Tiffany; 3 great grandchildren, Beth Anne and Ellen Underwood, and Kelsey Davis; and many nieces and nephews.

Services will be held at 10:00 AM Wed., 11-13-02, at the Bill Merritt Memorial Chapel. Interment will follow at 2:00 PM in the Purcell Cemetery. Bill Merritt Funeral Service.
