Robert "Bob" Dale Tucker, 70, of
Oklahoma City, OK, began eternal life on July 10, 2009 at Mercy
Hospital in Oklahoma City, OK. Born December 6, 1938 in Sapulpa
, OK to Vernie and Mildred (Rose) Tucker. Bob was a graduate of
John Marshall High School and an accomplished athlete, playing
football and basketball in college while earning his BA from
Harding University in Searcy, AR and his MBA from Oklahoma City
University. While in college, he began 50 devoted years of
marriage to Barbara Laster, his high school sweetheart. After
graduation he began his business career with OG&E, where he
worked in accounting and public relations, which lead to a
career with the Ardmore Chamber of Commerce and eventually the
Oklahoma City Chamber of Commerce. As a devoted Christian, Bob
was active in church, where he served on the mission committee
at New Hope Church of Christ. Bob allowed the love of Christ to
shine through him as an enthusiastic and positive friend,
colleague, grandfather, father and husband. He was passionate
about the relationships he enjoyed with his family and many
friends. Throughout his life Bob was an avid golfer and shared
many good times on the golf course with family, friends and
business associates.
His parents, Vernie and Mildred Tucker,
preceded him in death.
He is survived by his loving wife,
Barbara, of the home; brother, Gerald Tucker and wife Wanda of
Yukon, OK; and sister, Patsy Alcorn and husband Willie of
Hartsville, SC; his daughters: Sherri Tucker Handley and husband
Gary and Patti Odor and husband David, both of Edmond, OK; five
grandchildren: Tyler, Tucker, Ryann, Madison and Lilli.
Memorial services will be held on
Tuesday, July 14, 2009, at 2:00 pm at Quail Springs Church of
Christ. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial
donations be made to the Cross and Crown Ministry at 1008 N.
McKinley Ave., Oklahoma City, OK 73106.
