Daily Oklahoman, The Oklahoma City, Oklahoma April 5, 2006, page 15A Myrta G. (Richardson) Vetter passed away on Sunday, April 2, 2006 in the prayerful presence of her children and grandchildren. A true "coal miner's daughter", Myrta was born March 8, 1916 in the small mining town of Lothair, Kentucky. She was the eldest daughter of Albert and Hattie Richardson. While working at the Bluebird Café in Somerset, Kentucky, she met the love of her life, a dashing young man and future Air Force pilot, William J. Vetter. They were married November 17, 1941 in Louisville, Kentucky. Myrta, an extraordinary wife and mother, traveled with her family to Air Force stations around the country, finally settling in Midwest City in 1966. She was a practicing LPN before dedicating many years caring for her grandchildren. As a devoted Catholic, she volunteered many hours in the St. Philip Neri Altar Society, running the snack bar for Saturday night bingo and presiding over the Christmas booth at the annual church bazaar. Mother was the Matriarch at the Sunday family dinners. She dearly loved her family and the lights of her life were her great-grand babies. The family is eternally grateful to Barbara Kurth, mother's care giver and friend for five years. Barbara is a gift sent from heaven and has become a special member of our family. Myrta is survived by children Marie Yount and husband Joe, Sandra Chadd, William J. Vetter Jr., and Debra Cooper and husband Bill; grandchildren Cassandra Bowell and husband Keith, Veronica Chadd, Amber Purser and husband Robert, Anna Cooper and Electra Ragan and husband Steven; great-grandchildren Sierra Purser, Sarah Bowell, Abigail Gray, Chad Bowell, and Makayla Gray; sisters Jessie Kyle, Thelma Adams and best friend Rose Taylor. Myrta was preceded in death by her loving husband Bill,
son-in-law Robert Chadd, brothers Alonzo, J.P. & Elza
Richardson and sisters Alice Morgan & Lucy Bailey. The
family thanks Hospice Quality Care, Inc, and especially Kathy,
Nancy and Neva for their compassionate support during the last
several months. In lieu of flowers please send donations to St.
Philip Neri School, 1107 Felix Place, Midwest City, OK 73110 or
the charity of your choice. Wake services will be held at 7 pm
Wednesday evening, and the Mass of Christian Burial will be at 1
pm Thursday, both at St. Philip Neri Catholic Church. Daily Oklahoman, The Oklahoma City, Oklahoma June 17, 2001, page 11A VETTER Lt. Col. William (Bill) J.
