Marguerite Johana Petersen was born October 3, 1892 in Oklahoma City. She was the seventh child of Claus and Maria Petersen. Also, she was the last to survive of the eight children until she passed away Friday, October 12, 1990, in the Kiowa County Memorial Hospital.

When she was nine years old, the family decided they wanted to go west to homestead. There she attended grammar school and Sunday school, mostly in neighbors' houses.

On December 21, 1910, she married Arthur Cicero Vincent. To this union was born four daughters, Pansy Pauline Hardin of Quincy, Illinois, Agnes Marie Santner, St. Paul, Kansas, Cora Belle Tebu, Greensburg, Kansas, and Marguerite Sylvia King, Harrison, Tennessee. They lived on a farm in western Oklahoma near Reydon where all four girls attended school and graduated from high school.

In 1942, due to health reasons, they sold out and went to Chicago where Art and Marguerite worked for a while in Defense plants. In 1945, they returned to Reydon, Oklahoma, to make their home bur Art passed away September 14, 1946. For several years, Marguerite made her home with her daughters but in 1955 she settled in Greensburg. She did baby-sitting and also baked pies, cakes, etc. for special customers. Besides her family, baking was also her first love.

She was a member of the First Christian Church, Loyal Folks Sunday School Class, C.W.F. and was a former member of the Rebekah Lodge.

She leaves to mourn her four daughters, three grandsons and three granddaughters and six great grandchildren. One grandson and one great-grandson preceded her in death. She had a host of loving friends. She was a devoted and loving mother and will live in the hearts of her daughters forever.

Graveside services were held at 3:00 pm October 16, 1990 in White Rose Cemetery, Reydon, Roger Mills County, Oklahoma.
