David Love Wallace, passed away Feb. 20, 1996, after a courageous battle with cancer. He was born Feb. 10, 1923. He graduated from Classen High School, St. John's Military Academy and O.U. David served in the US Army during WWII and fought in the Battle of the Bulge. Following the war, he returned to OU, lettered in football in 1946 and 1947, setting numerous records. He graduated with a degree in business.

Survived by his daughters, Devin Wallace Smith, and Deane Wallace Burnett; a granddaughter, Margot Love Smith; son-in-law, Randy Burnett; sister-in-law, Virginia Wallace; nephews, Clark Southworth, John Hefner , Bill and Roy Wallace. The family would like to thank the Horizon Specialty Hospital for unending compassion and care this last year. Contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society. Services 3:00 p.m. Friday, February 23, 1996, at St. Paul's Cathedral. Interment in Memorial Park Cemetery.
