OKLAHOMA CITY, OK. - Graveside services for
Erskine B. WARD, 85, of Oklahoma City, formerly of Ponca City, are set for
Saturday, April 1, 2000 at Resthaven Memorial Park in Ponca City, OK with the
Rev. Elva Mae MAVIS, minister of the Reorganized Church of Jesus Christ of
Latter Day Saints, officiating.
Mr. Ward died Wednesday, March 29, 2000 at his home.
He was born Nov 4, 1914 in Gainesville, Cooke, TX to Fairy Jane NICHOLS and
Thomas Bird WARD. He married Millie Belle PIERCE in Gainesville in 1935. In
1944, he married Mable MALLICOAT, who preceded him in deth. On May 10, 1969 he
married Mary E. CAREY and the couple made their home in Ponca City.
Survivors include his daughters, Anna Lou TARLTON, Frankie Jane PHILLIPS, Vicky
BOECKNER, Jo Ann MAVIS and Janice DOVE; sisters Mallie KIZZER, Maude KELLEY;
brother Darrell WARD; 8 grandchildren; 5 great-grandchildren and numerous nieces
and nephews.
In addition to his two wives, he was preceded in death by his parents; 2
brothers, J. C. "Jake" and William A. "Dub" WARD.
Casket bearers will be Tracy MAVIS, Robin MAVIS, Leslie GRAY, Cale DOVE, Barry
TARLTON and Steve Miller.
