Ernest Watson, son of Frank and Kate Jones, now deceased, was born in Oklahoma City on July 1, 1911. He passed away May 15, 1973 in Sayre, Oklahoma. 

He and his younger brother Joe came to Durham in 1919 to make their home with the Reverend George and Edna Watson and their three daughters. In that environment he acquired a vast knowledge of the Bible and a belief in God. After that he joined the Doc Fox household and has been like a family member ever since. A man of high ideals who loved the land and his livestock, Ernest has farmed in the Durham Community since 1925. He married Helen Widener in 1937. 

He was preceded in death by the Rev. and Mrs. Watson and E. E. Fox. 

He is survived by his wife Helen of Durham; two children Terry of Cheyenne and Olivia of Columbia, South Carolina; Blanche Fox; his brother Joe Jones of Weatherford, Oklahoma; three foster sisters, Mrs. Floyd Williams, Mrs. Margaret Riley, and Mrs. Kathleen Anderson, all of Perryton, Texas; five grandchildren and other relatives and friends.

The services were held at Durham, Oklahoma May 17, 1973 with Rev. Sanford Cole and Rev. A.L. Martin officiating.

Interment in the Fairview Cemetery, Durham, Roger Mills County, Oklahoma.
