Cancer Claims Gladys West; Rites Pending
Mrs. Gladys West, 51, of 2808 SW 34, died Friday night at an
Oklahoma City hospital. She had suffered from cancer since
January.
Rites will be announced by Smith & Kernke funeral home, and
will be sometime Monday.
Born Jan 13, 1906, at Bailey, Mrs. West spent most of her life
in Oklahoma. She had lived in Oklahoma City 29 years, and for 10
years had been an employee of the Continental Baking Co., in the
cake department.
She was a Baptist.
Among the survivors are a son, Joe Thompson, of the home; three
brothers, Ed Bell, Rush Springs; Ira Bell, Little Rock, Ark.,
and Rufus Bell, Norman; three sisters, Mrs. Cleo McAllister,
Oklahoma City; Mrs. Annie Jones, Wichita Falls, and Mrs. Lottie
Slaton, Phoenix, Ariz., and two granddaughters.
