February 23, 1907
James Whittaker, who is well known in this city, died at his.
home in Shawnee Thursday. He had been a resident of Oklahoma
since 1889, at which time he located in this city and invested
in real estate. His investments proved profitable and he left a
valuable estate. He was a charter member of lodge No. 29,
I.0.0.F., and belonged to the Methodist church here.
Two sons and a daughter, Mrs. C. B. Bradford, survive him.
Funeral services will be held at his home in Shawnee at 10
o'clock this morning and the remains will be brought to this
city and interred at
Fairlawn cemetery tomorrow afternoon. The Odd Fellows will
have charge of the burial.
