@okc bombing victim

WHITTENBERG Jo Ann, Oklahoma City, Ok. A heart of gold stopped beating, two shiny eyes at rest. God broke our heart to prove He only takes the best. God knows you had to leave us, but you did not go alone. For a part of us went with you, the day He took you home. To some you are forgotten, to others, just a part of the past. But to us who loved and lost you, your memory will always last. Today we paused in respect and bowed in humble submission to the will of our Heavenly Father Who has claimed one of His own, my beautiful daughter. Ms. Jo Ann Whittenberg died April 19, 1995, a victim in the bombing of the Alfred P. Murrah Building. She was born one of a set of identical twins on Feb. 6, 1960 in Oklahoma City, Ok. to Howard & Lee Ann Whittenberg. Jo Ann graduated from John Marshall High School in 1978. She worked for a number of years for the Dept. of Housing and Urban Development and was currently a program assistant.

She was preceded in death by her father, Howard Whittenberg; maternal grandparents Ot to Sr. & Adell Caldwell; paternal grandparents Jasper & Alice Whittenberg.

Jo Ann leaves to cherish her precious memory her loving mother Lee Ann of the home; her identical twin sister Mary Ann; uncle Otto Caldwell Jr.; a great aunt, 3 aunts & a host of other relatives & friends & our pet dog, Toby. Jo Ann loved working for HUD and all the people there. "My heart aches for you. There is nothing that can replace your loving smile. Everyone loved you and I will always miss you. A child is a precious gift, my daughter. Your sister and I will always miss the joy and happiness your life has brought to us."

A procession will leave McKay Davis Funeral Home, 1616 N.E. 36th St. Graveside services will be 2:00 p.m. Friday, April 28, 1995, Trice Hill Cemetery, 51 05 N. Coltrane Road.
