Mike Foster Willard , 73, was born February 4, 1936, in Ryan,
OK, to Orbie and Clela May Willard , and passed into the arms of
his Lord, Jesus Christ, on April 13, 2009. He was very proud of
his Chickasaw Indian Heritage. He accepted Jesus as his Savior
and became an active member of the Crestview Baptist Church in
2007, where each member became a special part of his life. His
first profession was a bricklayer and he bricked many of the
buildings in the Mid-Del area, including the original part of
Schwartz Elementary, where his great-grandson now attends. He
retired from Dayton Tire & Rubber Co. as a forklift driver in
1998, after 29 years of service.
He married the love of his life, Genevieve, on May 29, 1955.
He is survived by a devoted family which includes his loving
wife, of 54 years; a daughter, Susan and her husband, Jeff
Baker; son, Keith (Bub) and wife, Cindy; grandsons, Shane
Willard and his wife, Stacy, Shannon Willard , Brett and Landon
Baker; great grandchildren, Madison Davis and Hunter Willard ,
and Hanna and Eli Willard ; 2 sisters, Avonel (Sister) Ingram
and Georgia Wilson; and 2 brothers, Jed and Bill Willard ; as
well as, many other family members and a host of lifelong
friends, including those in AA.
Services will be held at 10 am, on Thursday, April 16, at
Crest-view Baptist Church, under the direction of Ford Funeral
Service. Burial will be in held at 2 pm, Thursday, at Oaklawn
Cemetery, in Wynnewood, OK. In lieu of flowers, donations may be
made to Crestview Baptist Church Missions Program.
