Elva “Jean” Williams passed away at her home on March 5,
2006. She was born Feb. 11, 1932 to Bruce and Beulah Curtis in
Oklahoma City.
She is survived by two sisters, Bernice McComb and Hazel
Riddle and husband, Jack; five children, Jim Stubblefield and
wife Denise, Leandra Bessinger and husband Donnie, Glenn Seidl,
Kelly Stringfellow and husband, Michael, and Dane Williams,
mother and father-in-law Lois and Pete Williams. She was
extremely proud of her 11 grandchildren and six
great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews completed
her loving family.
She was preceded in death by sisters, Eva Christine Curtis
and Nita Berdine; and brothers, James, Travis and Luther Curtis.
Jean spent many years as a grocer and was employed by Brannon’s
IGA. She later worked for the Oklahoma Department of Human
Services where she retired in 1994. Jean lived a simple life and
made friends wherever she went. She loved and was loved by all
who knew her and she will be sorely missed. A special thanks to
Laurel Scheel for her loving care and devotion in the final
days.
Family and friends celebrated her life at 2 p.m. Wednesday,
March 8, 2006 at Bill Eisenhour Northeast Chapel. Interment
followed at 4:30 p.m. at Calvary Cemetery in Shawnee, Okla.
