Melvin A. Witte, born July, 16, 1914 in Joplin, Mo. died Oct, 1, 1992 at Deaconess Hospital, Okla. City, Ok. He began working for Oklahoma Testing Laboratories upon graduation from OU in 1938. Presently President of Oklahoma Testing Laboratories, Member of American Council of Independent Laboratories, American Society for Testing and Materials, American Society of Civil Engineers, American Chemical Society, American Concrete Institute, American Water Works Association, American Welding Society, National Society of Professional Engineers, American Institute of Chemical Engineers.

Survived by his wife of 51 years; Marjorie Knauer Witte , son, Richard Witte , Chickasha, OK and his wife, Joyce, grandsons; Robert J. Witte , Dallas, TX, John E. Witte , Fort Ord, Ca. David R. Witte , Chickasha, Ok. granddaughters, Brooks Ann Witte , Chickasha, Ok, sister, Elaine Carr, Sapulpa, Ok. brother Raymond O. Witte , Blairsville, Ga.

In Lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Oklahoma Medical Research or the charity of your choice. Services Saturday, October 3, 1992 at 1:00 pm First Presbyterian Church, interment Fairlawn Cemetery. Arrangements by Smith & Kernke Funeral Directors.
