WOOD John Chester Vivian Veitch 

They were together over 21 years, working, playing, and worshiping their Lord together. On August 30, 1997, they went to meet Him. 

John was born in Oklahoma City on Dec 10, 1957 to Coy L. "Bud" & Erlene (Sexton) Wood. Vivian was born in Fort Carson, Co. on Feb 12, 1957 to James R. & Alice (Gibson) Veitch. John was a graduate of Edmond Memorial High School and Vivian graduated from Northwest Classen in OKC. John and Vivian were married May 8, 1976, and each was the center of the other's world. Two sons were born of their union. John worked for Bendix Air Brakes, Lance Cracker Co., Oklahoma County Dist 3, and as an independent garage door installer. Vivian was a homemaker, seamstress, and teacher. John and Vivian joined Emmanuel Southern Baptist Church in Edmond, Ok, where John became a deacon and Vivian became a Godly wife and mother. They worked with the youth in the Edmond Roundup Club. 

John and Vivian are survived by their sons, John Dustin & Michael Shane Wood. 

Vivian is survived by her parents, James R. & Alice A. Veitch, San Jose, Ca; brothers, Brad & Darla Veitch, Dar Es Salaam, Tanzania, Matthew & Amy Veitch, Edmond, Ok; & her sister, Valorie Veitch, San Jose, Ca. 

John is survived by his mother, Erlene Wood; brother, B. Michael & Delone Wood; and his sister, Kathleen & Wes Williams, all of Luther, Ok; his grandmother, Lutie & Ike Kahdot, OKC. They are both survived by 8 nephews, 4 nieces, several aunts, uncles, cousins, & a host of loving friends. John was preceded in death by his father, Coy. In lieu of flowers, a trust fund is being established for Dustin & Shane. Please send donations to Emmanuel Southern Baptist Church, 700 W. 2nd, Edmond, Ok 73003. Services for John and Vivian will be 10:00 a.m. Thursday, Sept. 4 at Emmanuel Southern Baptist Church. Arrangements by Brown's Funeral Home, Luther, Ok.

Three people died when K. Goggin,Wellston, who was eastbound on State Highway 66 near Wellston, swerved left of center and collided with the Woods' sports utility vehicle about 6:30 p.m. Saturday, the patrol said.

Goggin was pinned in the wreckage... and was pronounced dead at the scene of massive injuries, the patrol said.

John Wood, who was the driver, and Vivian Wood died at the scene from massive injuries, the patrol said.
