LUTHER YANCEY

Luther James Yancey, 70 of 1721 NW 7, died Tuesday at St. Anthony Hospital. Services will be 10 a.m. Thursday at Guardian Midtown Funeral Home with burial in Sunny Lane Cemetery.

A native of Violet Hill, Ark, Yancey came to Oklahoma City in 1916 and worked at American Iron Co. for 20 years prior to his retirement in 1932.

Survivors include his wife, Elvira of the home, Five Daughters, Mrs. Ola Chavez, Mrs. Lola Frantz, Mrs. Mary Barker, Betty, and Mrs. Olive Mills, a son Edward and a sister, Mrs. Mora Bisel, all of Oklahoma City: two brothers Lon of Seminole, and Alfred of California: 30 grandchildren and 60 great-grandchildren.

Luther's first wife was Alcie Nell STANFORD she died in 1946 Alcie had 2 children by Luther. They were raised by the Stanford family.
Luther later married Elvira and had 6 children.
