Funeral services for Doris Irene Zimmerman, 89, of Cushing will be held at 10:00
a.m. Friday, February 15, 2002 at the Saints Peter and Paul Catholic Church in
Cushing. Father Mike Cashen will preside. Interment will be held at 3:00 p.m. at
the Gracelawn Cemetery in Edmond, Oklahoma. Funeral services will be under the
direction of the Palmer Funeral Home of Cushing.
Born March 11, 1912 to William and Amanda Fowler Cross in Mulhall, Oklahoma,
where she spent her early years, graduating from Mulhall High School in 1931.
Doris spent her working years enjoying friends and co-workers retiring from T.
G. & Y. in 1977. Preceded in death by her parents, husbands J. K. Daves,
Alva W. Dishman, Orbin Baumgardner; seven sisters, Lottie, Audrey, Mable, Della,
Edna, Gladys, and Dorothy and two brothers, Charlie and Raymond.
Survivors include husband Eugene Zimmerman, Cushing, Oklahoma; daughter and
son-in-law Joan and Bill Thrasher, Houston, Texas; son and daughter-in-law Jim
and Barbara Daves, Cushing, Oklahoma; seven grandchildren John Thrasher,
Orlando, Florida; Lisa and husband Craig Walker, Houston, Texas, Lori Vandiver,
Dallas, Texas; Gaye and husband Dayton Lierley, Danville, California; D'Lorah
and husband Steve Long, Cushing, Oklahoma; J. Kevin Daves, Cushing, Oklahoma; R.
Wayne and wife Jamie Daves, Cushing, Oklahoma; sixteen great-grandchildren;
Blair Thrasher, Erick and Jordan Walker, Jason and Corey Vandiver; Megan, John
and Madison Lierley; Ashley, Hank and Abe Anderson; Aaron and Brandon Daves;
Taylor and Hayden Daves; and Adam Long; 1 great-great-granddaughter, Veronica
Anderson.
The family asks that in lieu of flowers donations be made to the Oklahoma
Medical Research Foundation, Alzheimer's division.
