He married the love of his life, Dorothy (Hall) Wood. Lafoy was a member of the Nicoma Park Church of Christ. He retired from Tinker A.F.B. and enjoyed collecting pocket knives, playing the guitar, and he loved playing with his grandchildren.

His parents and one brother, Tony Wood preceded him in death. His survivors include his wife, Dorothy of the home; two sons: Charles Lafoy Wood and Damon Wood and wife, Gina; two daughters: Teresa Wall and husband Kim and LaQuita Cook and husband Alan; one brother: Philip Wood; one sister, Shirley James and husband John; seven grandchildren: Monica, Carlie, Cori, Niki, Dylan, Alec, and Jonathan; four great-grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews, and other family members.

Funeral services directed by Bill Eisenhour N.E. Funeral Home will be held at 10:00 A.M., Saturday, December 4, 2010 at Nicoma Park Church of Christ with burial to follow at Arlington Memory Gardens in Midwest City, OK.
