Star Residents Pay Last Respects to Aged Pioneer

Residents of the Star district, six miles east of the city, gathered at their schoolhouse Tuesday afternoon to attend final rites for Marshall Crawford, 87 year old pioneer of the district, who died Monday at the farm he homesteaded there in 1889, according to the Beveridge funeral home.

Burial was in Spencer cemetery.
