Venice A. Davis, 97, passed away on February 8, 2000. Mrs. Davis was
born in Roosevelt, Oklahoma on August 10, 1902, and moved to Oklahoma
City in her early years.
Her first husband, John Nathan Braziel, preceded her in death in 1940.
To this union three children were born,
AlVerne Blakley , Nathan Lynn
Braziel and Marvin Ramey Braziel, all of whom are deceased.
Mrs. Davis married Emmett Davis in 1948 and moved to Amarillo, Texas.
She had two stepsons, Jerry B. Davis and Dale Emmett Davis.
Mr. Davis and his two sons are now deceased.
Mrs. Davis was a charter member of Amarillo Art League and served as
president. She was also president of Amarillo League of Women's Voters
and was a member of Beta Sigma Phi sorority.
Mrs. Davis is survived by her sister, LaVonne Brown, Encinitas, CA;
grandchildren, Lynda Savage, Edmond, OK, Lana Wilkerson, Austin, TX,
Karen Gilley, Denison, TX, Carol Frank, Prosper, TX, Lisa Davis,
Henderson, NV, Kent Davis, Lakewood, CO, Kevin Davis, Albuquerque, NM
and Rick Davis, Amarillo, TX. Mrs. Davis had 13 great grandchildren and
2 great-great grandchildren.
Graveside services will be held Thursday, Feb. 10, 2000 at 2:00 p.m. at
Memorial Park Cemetery,
Memorial & Kelly. Arrangements under the directions of Memorial Chapel
Funeral Home.
