HAMMOND

Ashley Danielle Hammond, was born June 27, 1971 and passed away on November 29, 1994 after a courageous battle with cancer. Ashley was a 1989 graduate of Casady School. She was a member of the Fellowship of Christian Athletes, French Club, Casady Gales, Community Club, Art Club, Twister staff and Sergeant at Arms of the Blazers. She lettered in field hockey, soccer, golf and was a varsity cheerleader.

Ashley graduated from Sweet Briar College, Lynchburg, Va. in 1993. She was Chairman and Secretary of College Republicans and Junior Class Treasurer. She was a member of Bum-Chums Honorary Society, Student Programming Council, a member of the diving team and Lacrosse Team. She was chosen to represent Sweet Briar at the Leadership Development Program, West Virginia Leadership

Conference. Ashley was an active volunteer for the Children's Cancer Clinic and Blood Mobile. She was a 1990 Bachelors Club Debutante. She was also a member of the Oklahoma Youth Leadership Conference. She was currently residing in Washington, D.C. where she was a Staff Assistant for Senator Don Nickles in the Republican Policy Committee. Ashley was a member of Westminster Presbyterian Church.

She is survived by her parents, Denver and Dianne Meacham, II and Don Jerald Hammond; brothers, Damon and Derek Hammond and Garrett Meacham; sister, Allison Meacham; brothers and sisters-in-law, Scott and Janice Meacham and Greg and Kelley Meacham; nephews, Evan and Connor Meacham; also grandparents, Waldo and Dorothy Wills of Oklahoma City, Pauline Mays of Duncan and Florence Meacham Cook of Clinton; uncle and aunt, Wayne and Linda Wills and cousin, Kelly of Bedford, Tx.; great aunts and uncles, Mr. and Mrs. G.B. Miller, Edmond, Rev. and Mrs. Dean Roy Miller, Wisconsin, Mr. and Mrs. Ellis Manka, Minneola, Ks., Mr. and Mrs. George A. Meacham, Clinton, Ok.; and many dear friends and relatives.

A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday at Westminster Presbyterian Church in Oklahoma City.  Memorials may be made to Casady School, P.O. Box 20390, OKC, Ok. 73156 in memory of Ashley Hammond.
