Danny R. Mathis, 56, went to be with his Lord on December 20, 2005 after a long and courageous battle with cancer. He was born May 24, 1949 in Wyandotte, MI to Hayes and Pauline (Semore) Mathis . He was united in marriage on July 18, 1981 in Carlton, MI to Diana Thacker. Danny served his country proudly as an electrician for ten years in the United States Navy. He was employed with General Motors as an assembler retiring in January of 2005.

Danny is survived by his wife, Diana; his father, Hayes Mathis of Centerville, TN; one son, Aaron Mathis of Tulsa, OK; four daughters, Heather Jackson of OKC, Jennifer Fulton of OKC, Misty Oblak of Murfreesboro, TN, and Stephanie Mathis of OKC; one brother, Larry Mathis of Eddyville, KY; two sisters, Sheila Dankovic of Cadiz, KY and Clara Mathis of Greenbriar, TN; eight grandchildren, Ashlee and Lance Mathis , Jonathan Jackson, Tyler, Jared, and Ryan Fulton, Andrew Oblak, and Erin Mathis.

He is preceded in death by his mother; his first wife, Mary (Fuhrman) Mathis ; one brother, Darell Mathis ; and one sister, Glenda Maurer. Memorials may be made to the Hospice of Oklahoma County, Inc., 4334 NW Expressway, Suite 106, OKC, OK 73116-1515. Funeral services will be held 10:00 A.M., Friday, December 23, 2005 in the Southern Ridge Church of Christ with interment following in Resthaven Memory Gardens under the direction of Resthaven Funeral Home.
