McKenzie , Mary Francis 95, passed away November 08, 2011 at her home in Dallas. Born in Oklahoma City, OK, she was predeceased by her parents, H. P. and Bessie Moreland McKenzie , and her brother, H. P. McKenzie , Jr.

She is survived by cousins Jean and Will Lenhardt, their children and grandchildren; Gerald and Brenda Cockes, their children and grandchildren; and long-time friend Dorothy Myers. Mary Francis graduated from Oklahoma City's Classen High School in 1934, attended Oklahoma City University, and began what became a career of faithful service with Baptist churches and denominational entities. She worked at First Baptist Church, Oklahoma City, with Dr. W. R. White. In 1946 she moved to Dallas to work with Dr. J. Howard Williams, executive leader of the Baptist General Convention of Texas. She formally retired in 1981, but remained actively involved in Gaston Avenue Baptist Church (now Gaston Oaks Baptist Church) until her death. For many years she ministered to members of that congregation who were unable to attend services.

Funeral services are under the direction of Hahn Cook Funeral Home in Oklahoma City with burial at Fairlawn Cemetery.

At a later date there will be a memorial service at Gaston Oaks Baptist Church.
