Margaret Helen ( Blakley ) Schwab
April 16, 1920 - July 7, 2011

OKLAHOMA CITY --Margaret Helen ( Blakley ) Schwab died July 7, 2011 in Oklahoma City. She was born April 16, 1920 in Kingfisher, OK to Buford Russell Blakley and Lorene Stewart Blakley . She graduated from Classen High School in 1939. She then married the "love of her life," Chris George Schwab Jr, on September 5, 1939. On being told they couldn't marry until Chris was 21, they got married the day after his 21st birthday.

Margaret's passion was painting/ sketching/ tole painting and ceramics. She owned an art studio called The Paintin' Parlor with her sister-in-law, Alverne Blakley. She published a book on penmanship called "Trace n Write." She also loved playing the piano and would practice for hours. Margaret loved her family and spent so much time helping with her grandchildren.

Her husband, Chris, preceded her in death.

Surviving her are her daughter, Christa Chain and husband John of Oklahoma City; granddaughters: Erin Chain of Oklahoma City; Megan McKinley and husband Brian, Mallory Woodlee and husband Jeremy, all of Los Angeles, CA; great-grandchildren, Madeline and Charlie McKinley and Harper and Eloise Woodlee. Also surviving are brother, James R. Blakley of Oklahoma City; nieces, Lynda Savage and Lana Lopez of Edmond, OK.

A small private family graveside burial will be held. Her family will miss their "beloved Gaga" greatly.

Chris G. Schwab Jr., died April 26, 1989. Born Sept 4, 1918 to Chris G. Schwab Sr and Louise Aughtry. Attended Classen High School, and Oklahoma Military Academy. Enlisted in the Air Force in WW II. He was in the 8th Air Force and served in OSS. He was in Oslo, Norway 2 days before it was liberated. After the war he went into business with his father at Schwab and Co. Later he was president and owner of Merchants Frozen Foods Delivery Service until he retired. He was an Honorary Fireman of OKC Fire Dept. Member of Our Lord's Community Church and a Schriner.

Survived by wife Margaret Helen Blakley Schwab ; daughter Christa Lynn Chain of OKC; granddaughters Erin Louise, Mallory Lorin, and Megan Lynn Chain; sisters Caroline McBee of Monroe, LA, Jacquel ine Hunt of Winston-Salem, NC; nephews Michael Schwab of San Francisco, CA, Randy Schwab of Edmond, OK, Daniel McBee of Ft Worth, TX; nieces Jackie Lou Hines of Monroe, LA, Lynda Savage of Edmond, OK , and Lana Wilkerson of OKC.

Service 2 pm Friday HAHN/COOK/STREET & DRAPER Chapel, Burial at Memorial Park Cemetery. Memorials to Mercy Home Health Dept. in care of Mercy Health Center OKC.
