POLICE WILL ATTEND RITES
Department Members To Honor Hubatka
All policemen not on duty will attend the
funeral for John Hubatka Friday. The 66-year-old pioneer, member of
the city's first police department, died Tuesday at his home.
North Prospect avenue and Fiftieth street.
Burial will be
from the Pilgrim Congregational church at 4 pm. Police bearers will
be named, Thursday, according to John Watt, police chief.
Herbert E. Swan in the absence of Rev. F. M. Sheldon.
pastor of the church, will conduct the services. Burial in
Fairlawn
cemetery will be in charge of the Hahn funeral home.
Hubatka who
joined the police force in 1890 and served 40 years in various
capacities, including two term; as chief.
He is survived by his wife,
one son, John Edward Hubatka; two daughters, Mrs. Forrest Mouser and
Mrs. John Sinopoulo, and two grand-children. all living in the city.
