Richard Carroll Keen , Sr. was born September 9, 1922 in Oklahoma City,
Oklahoma to Fred Millard Keen and Nora Bell (Strader) Keen . He passed
away on September 12, 2005 surrounded by his loving family and minister.
Richard graduated from Classen High School in 1941. He proudly served
his country as a member of the U.S. Army Air Corps in North Africa and
Italy. After his discharge, he attended Oklahoma City University.
He was united in marriage with his loving wife LaFaun (Martin) Keen on
May 25, 1947. Richard held a life membership in the National Order of
DeMolay. He was a 50 year perpetual member of the Siloam Masonic Lodge
in Oklahoma City. He was a Boy Scout as a youth and later Scout Master
of his son's troop. He began his business career with Commercial Credit
Corporation in Oklahoma City. He was transferred to Wichita and then
Topeka, Kansas. There he began his 32 year employment with Chrysler
Corporation. He served as a District Manager in Salina, Kansas and
Oklahoma City. He was promoted to the Kansas City Zone offices as Dodge
Distribution Coordinator and later became Assistant Distribution
Manager. Richard enjoyed golf throughout his adult life. After his
retirement in Springfield he enjoyed the company of his golfing buddies
every Wednesday. He also maintained his intense interest in automobiles.
He was active in the Methodist Men's Group of his church.
He is survived by his loving wife, LaFaun ; his son Richard C. Keen ,
Jr. of Dallas, Texas; his daughter, Carol L. Orloski and her husband
John, of Bartlesville, Oklahoma; grandson, Jeffrey A. Orloski, of Grand
Prairie, Texas; and granddaughter, Stephanie L. Orloski. Valley Village,
California.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a. m . Friday, September 16, 2005
in King's Way United Methodist Church. Burial with full military honors
will be n Rose Hill Cemetery, Oklahoma City, Saturday, September 17,
2005 at 11:00 am informal visitation will be Thursday, September 15,
2005 from 1:00 to 7:00 pm in Gorman-Scharpf Brentwood Chapel and formal
visitation will be held Friday September 16, 9:00 am until service time
in the church. Memorial contributions may be made to King's Way United
Methodist Church.

LaFaun M. Keen
was born December 23, 1923 in Oklahoma City, OK to Worthen J. Martin and
Charlotte Bell (Hastings) Martin. She passed away on December 17, 2011
in Dallas, TX.
LaFaun graduated from Central High School in 1942. While in high
school she was employed part-time in sales at Harry Katz, Inc. She
attended the University of Oklahoma the fall semester of 1942. Then
joining the war effort, she was employed as a Clerk-Stenographer in the
Identification Branch of the Intelligence Section at Tinker Field, OK.
After the war, she was employed as a stenographer at the State Board of
Public Welfare offices at the State Capitol Building in Oklahoma City.
She was united in marriage with her loving husband Richard C. Keen on
May 25, 1947, at St Luke's Methodist Church in Oklahoma City. During
their 58 years of marriage they moved numerous times with Richard's job
first at Commercial Credit Corporation and then with Chrysler
Corporation. These moves took them to Wichita, Topeka, and Salina, KS.
They then returned to Oklahoma City for 9 years. She was employed at
Cavanaugh Realty as receptionist just prior to their being transferred
to Kansas City. They eventually moved to Springfield, MO to enjoy their
years of retirement.
LaFaun was a loving wife and mother and always kept a beautiful home.
She enjoyed playing bridge, reading, crafts, and working in her
flowerbeds. She was a member of the Newcomer's Association in Kansas
City and the Welcome Wagon in Springfield, MO. She and Richard spent
many years researching and compiling the family genealogy on both sides
of their families.
Richard C. Keen, Sr. preceded her in passing September 12, 2005 and at
that time she moved to Dallas.
She is survived by her son Richard C. Keen Jr. and his partner David
Kushel of Dallas, TX; her daughter Carol L. (Keen) Orloski and her
husband, John, of Bartlesville, OK; grandson, Jeffrey A. Orloski of Fort
Worth, TX; and granddaughter Stephanie L. Orloski of Los Angeles, CA.
A graveside service will be held at 2 p.m., Wednesday, December 21,
2011 at Rose Hill Cemetery, Oklahoma City, OK.
Arrangements under the direction of Sparkman-Crane Funeral Home, Dallas,
TX.
