James D. "Mike"
Miller, 64, of Midwest City, passed away Monday, July 7, 1997. He
was born June 14, 1933 in Earl Park, In. to Lee & Amy (Huffman)
Miller . He married Barbara Ward on Dec. 17, 1955. He retired from
the US Air Force after 30 years of service, including the Korean
Conflict & Vietnam War and received the Bronze Star, AF Commendation
Medal, Vietnam Service Medal and the Meritorious Service Medal.
"Chief Miller " came to Midwest City in 1970 where he was Sergeant
Major of Tinker AFB Hospital until retirement in 1980. He was a
member of Midwest City Lodge 532 and the Christian Church.
Survived by wife Barbara, of the home; son, Anthony Miller of
Houston, TX; 4 daughters, Victoria Uebel of Signal Hill, Ca., Joni
Wilkinson of Macon, Ga., Jennifer Miller of Midwest City & Nancy
Dickeson of Macon, Ga.; 8 grandchildren, Emily, Andrew, Claire,
James , Sarah, Mike, Stacy & Matthew.
Preceded in death by parents, an infant brother and a sister.
Graveside services will full military honors will be held 11:00
a.m., Thursday, July 10 at
Arlington Memory Gardens
