Mrs. Mary Moseley, 82, 612 E. 6th, died Wednesday morning. Survivors:
Four sons, John G. Moseley, Sulphur; Charley B. Moseley, Mustang; Tom J.
Moseley, Oklahoma City, and Roy D. Moseley, San Diego, Calif.; and two
daughters, Mrs. Bell Dickinson and Mrs, Kisiah Hendricks, Oklahoma City.
Services will be conducted from the Immanuel Baptist church, 500 E.
12th, Thursday at 1 p.m. Interment, Spencer cemetery, under direction of
The Hahns.
5/23/1929 Mother of First Boy Here Dies (Thursday)
The mother of the first boy born in Oklahoma City, Mrs. S.W. Moseley,
82 years old, 612 E. 6th street, died in her home Wednesday morning.
She was an ‘89er, and with her husband built what is believed to have
been the first house in the city on Reno avenue.
Almost at once it became a kind of social center for ‘89ers. It was torn
down long ago.
In that first house, Roy D. Moseley was born. Oklahoma City's first
boy baby, according to members of the ‘89er association.
Mrs. Moseley is survived by her husband, four sons and two daughters,
John G. Moseley, Sulphur; Charles B. Moseley, Mustang; Tom J. Moseley,
Oklahoma City; Roy, Mrs. Bell Dickinson and Mrs. Kisiah Hendricks,
Oklahoma City.
Funeral services will be held Thursday afternoon at 1 o'clock from
the Immanuel Baptist church, 500 E. 12th street. Burial will be at
Spencer [Kolb] under
direction of the Hahn funeral home.
