Jamil R. Siddiqui
July 15, 1938 - September 21, 2011
|
Jamil departed this world on Wednesday, September 21, 2011. We are very
sad that we will no longer enjoy his company and kindness while on this
earth. He was a compassionate man who dearly loved Carol, his wife of 39
years, his children, grandchildren, extended family, and many others.
His warm personality and sincere interest in others made him a friend to
many. However, we also rejoice in the certain promise of God that
Jamil's person is not dead but rather lives on in the very presence of
his God and Savior, Jesus Christ, who said, "He who believes in Me has
everlasting life" (John 6:47).
Jamil was born to Aziz Ur Rahman and Faridan Begum on July 15, 1938 in
the village of Incholi, India. From his birth until his most important
decision on December 25, 2009, Jamil remained a Muslim. On that day,
when millions celebrated the birth of Jesus, he bowed his knee and
trusted in the Lord Jesus, who forgave his sins. Even when facing death
from liver disease, he no longer had any fear. After completing a
college degree in India, he moved to America in 1961, attended OSU,
married Carol in 1964, and was a career aerospace engineer, working
primarily at Tinker AFB, managing the mainstay TF-33 jet engine. Jamil
and Carol were very hospitable, often inviting others into their home
for delicious food and hot tea, which Jamil loved. He greatly enjoyed
walks at lunchtime with his close friend, Mike Burch, for over 25 years.
Often he mentioned his deep appreciation for the love of Christian
believers who had been so kind to him and prayed for him.
Jamil was preceded in death by his wife and is survived by his brother,
Nafees Ur Rahman; several half-brothers; a half-sister; and his
children, Jamal, Hassan, and Neena (Coloney). The memorial service will
be at the First Baptist Church of Choctaw at 2:00 P.M. on Sunday,
September 25th, followed by a graveside service at the
Jones IOOF Cemetery
, then a reception back at the church. Donations in memory of Jamil may
be made at NTAFund.org.
