Danny Joe Ickman died on June 21 from a sudden illness. He was born on Feb. 19, 1948 in Enid, Okla., to Owen and Weta Mae Ickman. He graduated from Crooked Oak High School in 1967. He was employed as a warehouseman for Sam’s Optical. Dan was currently serving as a Trustee at Family of Faith Church. He is a Past-President of the Del City Jaycees. He loved his church, OU football, fishing and was especially proud of his grandchildren. He will be greatly missed for his humor, his teasing nature, his love for life and willingness to help others. Dan was preceded in death by his parents.

He is survived by his son, Steven Ickman of Renton, Wash.; grandchildren, Alex Ickman and Stormy Spires of Del City, Okla.; along with his uncles and aunts George Russell, Joe Russell, Wanda Braley, Sam and Sue Edwards. Dan leaves behind many cousins, friends, co-workers and his extended church family. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Dan Ickman Benevolence Fund, which will be set up in his honor at Family of Faith Church, 13500 S.E. 15th, Choctaw, Okla. 73020.

Services were held at 2 p.m. Saturday, June 24, 2006 at Barnes and Johnson Funeral Home, Midwest City. Interment followed at Sunny Lane Cemetery.
