Leslie “Burt” Lowry, 87, passed away June 14, 2006 at Veterans Medical Center in Muskogee. He was born Dec. 28, 1918 to Clarance and Rella (Cook) Lowry in Hamdon.

He is survived by his wife, Martha of the home in Eufaula; daughters: Judy and husband, Bill Bojan of Houston, Texas; and Kristine Herbert of Houston, Texas; one son, David and wife, Lesley of Porter, Texas; grandchildren, Jennifer and husband, Todd Mullins of Willis, Texas, Marianne Herbert of Katy, Texas, Davy Herbert of Houston, Texas, Mackenzie and Zachary Lowry of Porter, Texas and Jacquelyn Lowry of Porter, Texas; one great-grandson, Chandler Stephen Ryan of Katy, Texas; stepdaughter, Marilyn Huff of Tahlequah, Becky Thatcher of Sapulpa, Wayne Thatcher Jr. of Eufaula and Steve Thatcher of Vinita; stepgrandchildren, Nicki Thatcher of Hockley, Texas, Brittany and Zachary Neesmith of Madill and Jade and Mica Thatcher of Robstown, Texas; three great-stepchildren, Tyler Thatcher of Bryan, Texas and Ashley and Sarah Thatcher of Hockley, Texas; four brothers, Dee Lowry of Hemet, Calif., Delbert Lowry and wife, Sarah of Hemet, Calif., David Lowry of Midwest City and Charles and wife, Ann Lowry of Kingston.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Clarance and Rella (Cook) Lowry; brothers, Herbert and Gerald Lowry; sister, Vivian Hamilton; and several nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives and friends.

Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Saturday, June 17, 2006 at Bill Eisenhour Northeast Chapel. Burial will be held at 10 a.m. Monday, June 19, 2006 at Arlington Memory Gardens.
