Leon C. Smith , was born January 8, 1921 in Tishomingo. He passed away Wednesday afternoon, August 2, 2006 at the age of 85. Leon and his wife, Oneta, moved to Midwest City in 1958. They also lived in Anadarko, Chickasha, Duncan, and Dodge City, Kansas. Married on June 8, 1946 in Anadarko, Leon and Oneta celebrated 60 years of marriage this year.

Leon is preceded in death by his father, Arthur, mother, Emma, brother, Edgell and infant nephew, Billy.

He is survived by wife, Oneta of the home; son and daughter-in-law Mark and Marie and 2 granddaughters, Kristina and Laura of Petaluma, CA; son, and daughter-in-law Steve and Cindy and grandson, David of Midwest City; sister and husband, Icy Mae and Bill Chatham of San Antonio, TX; and nephew and wife, Bob and Sharon Chatham of San Antonio, TX. Having committed his life to Christ in 1948, his church membership is at Country Estates Baptist Church in Midwest City where services will be held Monday, August 7, 2006 at 11:00 AM. Interment will follow at Arlington Memory Gardens.
