Donald Russell Stroud was born Nov. 7 1943, in Sulpher Springs, Texas, to Russell F. Stroud and Marjorie Miller Stroud. Don grew up in Dewey, Oklahoma, and graduated from Oklahoma State University in 1965. He was a member of the Sigma Chi fraternity. He served in the U.S. Army Reserve and was medically discharged in 1969. He was employed by GMAC for 25 years before retiring in 1993.

Don was preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by his wife of 25 years, Debbie, son Randy Stroud who attends Oklahoma State University, daughter Peyton Stroud who attends Oklahoma City University, and his dear Aunt Mary V. Miller of Edmond. Don adored his children and considered them his most precious gifts. He leaves this world a better place for those hearts cannot be mended. Lord Jesus, for our countless blessings, we are humbly grateful.

Memorials may be made to the Henderson Hills Baptist Church. the American Juvenile Diabetes Foundation, or charity of choice would be appreciated. Services will be at 2:00 P.M., Monday, August 19, 2002, at the Henderson Hills Baptist Church 2300 South Boulevard in Edmond, with the Reverend Wally Weaver officiating.
