Sam E. Aboussie, Jr., 61, lifelong resident of Altus, died Saturday, December 13, 2008, at Jackson County Memorial Hospital. Memorial services will be held at a later date. The family has requested a private burial.

Sam was born on August 23, 1947 in Altus, Oklahoma to Sam E. and Emily  (Massad) Aboussie. He was in the Altus High School graduating class of 1965 and had attended some college. He served in the United States Air Force in the late 1960's. The Altus community will remember Sam's friendly smile and courteous assistance at the car wash on Tamarack Road, in Altus, where he had worked for several years. He was of the Episcopal Faith. Sam was preceded in death by his parents and sister Sharon Shadid. He is survived by his sister Jacque Aboussie Webb and husband Ted; nephew Ameil Shadid and family and several aunts, uncles and cousins. Kincannon Funeral Home.

Emily Massad Aboussie, 91, of Altus, died Saturday. Funeral services are at 10 a.m. Wednesday at the St. John's Episcopal Church in Norman. Graveside services will be at 4 p.m. at the Altus City Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Havenbrook Funeral Home. Aboussie lived in Blair until moving to Altus in 1940. She and her husband owned and operated Sharon's, a ladies apparel shop, tor 33 years. The family will receive guests today from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. at Havenbrook Funeral Home. In lieu of flower memorials can be made to St. Paul's Episcopal Church, 721 N Thomas, Altus, OK 73521, or a charity of choice.
