Hazel
Virginia (Smith) Adams was born Sept. 25, 1937 in Duncan, OK and
passed away Feb. 24, 2007. She graduated from Stephens College
with a degree in English. After her graduation from college,
Hazel married Givens L. Adams, whom he called his 'Beloved
Ginny', August 31, 1957. They moved to Norman, OK where Mr.
Adams graduated from the University of Oklahoma Law School. They
moved to Oklahoma City where Mrs. Adams was active in Junior
League and the First Baptist Church of Oklahoma City.
She is survived by her children, John Givens Adams, Karen Lea
Adams, and Kristi Kay Adams of Oklahoma City; sister-in-law,
Dora Jane Borgstadt of Independence, MO; two nieces, Patricia
Elliot and Sharon Schubert; three great nephews and one great
niece.
Services will be 11:00 am, Friday, March 9, 2007 at the
First Baptist Church of Oklahoma City. Interment will be in
Lexington, MO. Donations may be made to the American Lung
Association of Oklahoma, 3160 W. Britton Rd., Suite E, OKC, OK
73120.

Givens L. Adams was born June 24, 1935 in
Wellington, Missouri and died November 5, 2002. He
graduated from the University of Missouri with a
degree in Political Science. He went to the
University of Oklahoma where he received a degree in
law in 1963. He worked most of his life in Federal
Government, employed as an Assistant U.S. Attorney
for 11 years. Mr. Adams won many outstanding awards
while in this position. He worked for FDIC, Small
Business Administration, and was the Clerk for
Federal Judge, L. Eubanks. He also worked in various
law firms and retired from the Oklahoma Tax
Commission. Mr. Adams was a member of the Oklahoma
Bar Association and Phi Delta Theta Fraternity. He
was a member of the First Baptist Church, Oklahoma
City, OK for 40 years. He served as Deacon and
taught Sunday school in the youth department. He is
survived by his wife of 45 years, Virginia (“his
beloved Ginny“) Adams; son, John Givens Adams;
daughter, Karen Lea and daughter, Kristi Kay;
sister, Dora Jane Borgstadt of Independence,
Missouri; 2 nieces, Sharon Schubert, Patricia
Elliot; 3 great nephews and one great niece. The
funeral service will be held Saturday, November 9 at
10:00 a.m. at Baggerley Funeral Home in Edmond.
Donations may be made to the Oklahoma Heart
Association or First Baptist Church in Oklahoma City
Interment will be in Lexington, MO.
