ALLEN Charles Edwin, 76, Midwest City, OK died
9/2/99 in his home following a lengthy illness.
Graveside services will be held Saturday, 9/4/99, at
10:30 a.m. at the Addington Cemetery, Addington, OK.
He was born 8/21/23 in Addington, OK to Charles
Aubrey and Millie McBee Allen. He married Claudia
May Shadrick 6/19/44 and to this union were born 4
children.
In 1943 he entered into active military duty with
the 4144th Army Air Force Base Unit and served 3
yrs., later receiving an honorable discharge on
2/24/46. Following discharge from the Army Air Force
he began a 37 yr. career with TAFB as a Maintenance
Q.C. Inspector. In 1969, he embarked on a 12 yr.
career as OK County Communications Officer for the
OK County Civil Defense. "Charlie", as his friends &
family called him, was a passionate authority on
early day Oklahoma History, as well as history of
the Southwest. He considered himself to be "a
student of the Old West." In 1986 he became a sales
representative of "Western Publications." Over the
years he provided facts, stories, songs, and legends
to any interested audience.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Charles
Aubrey & Millie McBee Allen and one brother James
Aubrey Allen. He is survived by his wife, Claudia,
of the home; son, Charles E. Allen, Jr., MWC;
daughters, Linda Allen and Sandra Faulk, MWC, &
Brenda Pettijohn, Altus; brother, Bill Allen,
Visalia, CA; sisters, Reba Wilson Pritchett, Savoy,
TX, Sue Ballard & Beverly Kirby, both of Eustace,
TX; 10 grandchildren, 6 great grandchildren,
numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives & friends.

Claudia May Allen, 85, went to be with her Lord on
Friday, September 2, 2011, at her home. Graveside
services were held on Tuesday, September 6, 2011, at
3:00 PM, at Addington Cemetery in Addington, OK,
with Beverly Kirby officiating, under the direction
of Kincannon Funeral Home.
She is survived by three daughters: Brenda
Pettijohn of Altus, OK; Linda Ray Allen of Midwest
City, OK; Sandra Faulk and husband Rick of Edmond,
OK; one son, Charles Edwin (Charlie) Allen, Jr of
Midwest City, OK; and numerous grandchildren,
great-grandchildren and great great-grandchildren.
