Funeral Services To Be Held Tuesday

Slayer of Elmer Ammerman is Still in the City Jail

The funeral of Elmer Ammerman the 14 year-old boy who was killed by a negro lad named Charles Walker, Friday evening, will be held from the family residence at two o'clock Tuesday afternoon. The funeral services are delayed until this date to allow a sister of the dead boy time to arrive here from Kansas.

When the news of his death became generally known over the city yesterday it caused intense sorrow to a large circle of friends that the dead boy had formed by his courteous and gentlemanly conduct while acting as a deliver boy for the Daily Oklahoman. He was held in high esteem by his fellow carriers and as a slight mark of their regard they contributed sufficient funds to purchase a handsome floral wreath which was sent to the house yesterday afternoon.

A coroner's jury was empanelled yesterday to inquire into the circumstances of young Ammerman's death. The jury went to the family residence where they viewed the body. They then adjourned until 10 o'clock tomorrow morning when they will meet in the court house to hear the evidence of witnesses to the tragedy.

Charles Walker, the youthful slayer is still confined in the city jail and will probably be held there until after the coroner's jury reaches a verdict.
