xxxxx This earthly life was
completed by Marjorie Ann (Kuryanski) Atteberry on
April 26, 2012. It began when Margie was born July
16, 1933, to Frank
and Eva Kuryanski, little sister to Dolores, (Dodie,)
in Harrah, Oklahoma. The family then moved to
Oklahoma City, where Margie attended parochial
schools and graduated from St. Joseph’s High School
in 1950, where she met her lifelong companion and
beloved husband, Glenn Logan Atteberry. They married
June 6, 1953, and were blessed with four children.
Margie was a stay-at-home mother during their
children’s school years, then later ventured into
the business world. She sold real estate for a time
with Abide Realtors and later owned and operated
Dermaculture Salon for ten years on 36th &
Pennsylvania. Her greatest love and deepest passion,
however, was her family, who always knew and felt a
mother’s unconditional love and devotion. Margie was
spiritually inclined and taught her children to see
beauty and God’s divinity in all life and all
situations. Her children, and later, grandchildren,
were treated to lullabies and popular tunes of the
40s, 50s and 60s. She loved to sing and played both
piano and guitar, danced, and practiced yoga most of
her life. Margie had a ready wit and a wonderful
sense of humor, possessing a tendency to break into
song and dance at any moment. This provided her
adoring family with many hours of happy, genuine
laughter. These gifts set the tone for scores of
delightful family gatherings over the years,
memories of which will be treasured by her beloved
family. After their respective retirements, Margie
and Glenn fulfilled a dream and moved to Lake
Eufaula, where they resided for ten years. It was
there the entire family met regularly and
experienced the happiest of times, which not only
will sustain us all in the future, but also provided
her children and grandchildren with a model for
building a strong and secure family atmosphere.
Margie was preceded in
death by her parents and sister,
Dolores
Kuryanski Wheeler. She is survived by her
husband of 58 years, Glenn, of the home; and four
children: Ramona Fisher Collins; Elizabeth Parks
Wedemeyer and husband Rich; Valerie Mc-Coy; son,
Paul Atteberry and his wife Yesenia. She adored her
five grandchildren, which include Nathan Fisher,
with whom she shared a special bond; Annie Fisher
Brooks and husband Ryan; Madi Parks; Nicholas
Atteberry; and Natalie Atteberry. Her newest loves
were her two great-grandchildren, Saylor Brooks and
Samuel Brooks.
A prayer and remembrance
service will be held Sunday, 7 pm at Smith and
Kernke, 14624 N. May. A funeral Mass will take place
on Monday, April 30th, 10 am at Church of the
Epiphany of the Lord, 7336 W. Britton Road, to be
followed by interment at Chapel Hill Cemetery.
