former City Resident Dies In Illinois Fire

Mrs. Lavada Belle Steury, 34 year-old native and former resident of Oklahoma City, was suffocated early Thursday in a fire  destroyed her home in Kankakee. Ill.

Funeral will be here Monday 2 pm at Hillcrest Baptist church, with burial in Arlington Memorial Park cemetery under direction of the Watts funeral home.

Thr daughter of Mr. and Mrs. C. H. Mariott, 712 Arbor, Mrs. Steury and her family Moved to Illinois about two years ago. Until then she had lived in Oklahoma City. The pre-dawn fire injured her son, Charles William Steury, 15. also. Another child, 17-year-old Hattie. was in a hospital and escaped injury Her husband. Harold was at work at the time.

In addition to her husband, children and parents, Mrs. Steury is survived by a sister, Mrs. Rut Robertson. Lancaster, Calif. ; her grandparents; a niece, and number of uncles and aunts.
