December 28, 1990, pg 14O. J. ''Chuck'' Toland, 70, of Nicoma Park, passed through
the valley into eternal life on Dec. 25, 1990. Born Jan. 3,
1920, in Lore City, Ohio, and came to the Nicoma Park area in
1949. He was self employed and in sales most of his life. Former
mayor of Nicoma Park in the 1970's, was a past Worthy Patron of
Jordan, Chapter 501, Order of the Eastern Star, 32nd Degree
Mason, and a Boy Scout leader. US Navy Veteran World War II.
Recently he received the 1990 Man of the Year Award from Nicoma
Park. O. J., also known as Tony, was a self made man of great
integrity and pride.
He is survived by his wife, Bonnie, of the home; four sons,
Jerrold Rodger, of Warr Acres, twins, Donald Lee, of Mustang,
and Ronald Lee Toland , of Norman, and Joe King, of Phoenix, AZ;
four daughters, Judythe Mae Branson, of OKC, Gayle King, of
Dayton, OH, Sherry King, of Norman, and Suzanne King, of Nicoma
Park; 23 grandchildren; and 3 great grandchildren; one sister,
Bonnie Douglass; and his mother, Edie Adams, both of Nicoma
Park.
Preceded in death by his first wife, Bunny, in 1979. He was
loved by all of his extended family, and had made peace with his
children and his Lord. He will be greatly missed. Services will
be 1:00 p.m. Friday, Dec. 28, 1990, at the Bill Eisenhour NE
Chapel, with burial at
Arlington Memory
Gardens. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the
National Order of Rare Disease, or organization of your choice.

TOLAND _Bunny Champine. Age 59; 1251; NE 23.
Passed away September 21, 1979 at Mercy Health
Center. Born in Craddock, Va on October 25,1919.

Home. Burial Arlington Cemetery. She grew up in
Columbus, Oh. She was married to O.J. Toland on
January 9,1939 in Columbus. They moved to OKC in
1941 and to Nicoma Park in 1949. She was
active in business with her husband. Were previous
owners of a dairy. Ran the ID Tag business. She was
co-owner of Toland Acres Real Estate. She graduated
from Central High School in Columbus, Oh. She was
reared in a Lutheran background, but was active in
Metaphysics. She was a member of the Jordan Chapter
of the Eastern Star. She was active in a community
Bridge Club for 27 years.
Her spouse O.J. of the home, 3 sons Jerry Toland
of Warr Acres; Donald Toland of OKC, Donald Toland
of Norman, 1 daughter Judythe Branson of Choctaw, 1
brother Thomas Champine of Ada; 2 sisters Mildred
Gross of Choctaw, June Ellis of Seattle, 11
grandchildren. Contributions maybe made to Oklahoma
Medical Research Cancer Foundation. After having
fought gallantly and winning many battles with
cancer her last year, Bunny passed away quietly
following emergency surgery Friday afternoon.
